Sports Village spins five figure investment in new venture for members
Aberdeen’s largest sports fitness centre has made a significant five figure investment to ensure its facility continually boasts the most advanced gym equipment in the North east.
Aberdeen Sports Village has created a new £70,000 group cycle studio at the fitness facility in the city’s Linksfield Road.
The 40sqm studio has 20 state-of-the-art Technogym bikes which will see an increase in the number of Les Mills spin classes delivered at ASV when the timetable launches on 15 October. The investment will allow more than 148 instructor-led and virtual classes to be delivered each month.
Seven of ASV’s team has already been trained to deliver the new range of spin classes and a further ten fitness instructors at the facility will be trained to deliver the classes.
Health and fitness development manager at ASV, Kris McIntosh, said: “This is a significant investment for ASV and it is a superb addition to our facility. Spin is one of the most popular class activities, therefore, creating a dedicated spin studio and investing in staff training demonstrates that we are committed to listening to our members and delivering what they want.
“The bikes we have in the new studio are the most advanced bikes currently on the market and our members will benefit from this, as well as the vast increase in the number of classes. The classes are a fantastic addition to the timetable to support members with their targets to burn calories, build muscle and increase cardio and fitness. In this industry, we have to continually re-evaluate our offering to our members to ensure that we have the best facilities available, and spin offers a low impact cardio exercise with less risk of injury that can be enjoyed by everyone in our community.”
ASV is hosting an open weekend to launch the new cycle studio from Friday, 12th October – Sunday, 14th October, with non-members welcome on the Saturday and Sunday but classes must be pre-booked.

ASV has a state of the art gym, over 100 group exercise classes, eight lane 400m track, six lane indoor running straight, squash courts and sports studios.
