Xeretec launching Device as a Service to reduce risks of cyberattack

As technology advances and the risk of data breach or cyberattack increases, companies must act now to protect their business.

Xeretec are launching Device as a Service (DaaS) which will enable businesses to have the most advanced technology and systems, ensuring increased productivity and higher efficiency, reducing costs and the threat from security attacks.

The company will launch DaaS at the major IT and digital conference, DIGIT Expo in Edinburgh on Wednesday, 14 November 2018.

The conference is the largest business technology event held in Scotland, focusing on core emerging technologies.  With 30 speakers, 80 exhibitors and an expected 1000 attendees, this event provides the ideal opportunity for Xeretec to showcase its latest technology offering.

DaaS is a simple, cost effective way to procure and deploy new technology a business needs whilst delivering a modern user experience.  It allows businesses to upgrade IT, including hardware, accessories, installation, services and support, without upfront capital outlay.

Businesses can select a package based on their requirements and spread the costs across a chosen contract term.   This enables businesses to implement the most up-to-date technology for a simple per device cost.

Xeretec, is launching DaaS as the rise in security issues increase.  An estimated 50% of UK businesses have been affected by a data breach or cyberattack*, which can have a significant cost to the business; a typical attack can cost in the region of £60,000*.    Keeping software up-to-date can protect your business from these costs and by introducing the latest operating system, this ensures protection, safeguarding a business and reducing fear against fraud.

Paul Connelly, General Manager at Xeretec, said: “This event is an ideal opportunity for us to launch DaaS allowing us to meet customers face-to-face, explaining the benefits of this package.

“With an estimated 82 million passwords being stolen daily*, every business owner has the fear of being hacked, and as Microsoft ends free support for Windows 7 from January 2020, it is imperative that businesses have the most up-to-date software to ensure greater levels of security.

“By introducing this new service we are providing a solution to our clients, which is cost effective and keeps technology and cybersecurity at the forefront of the business.”

Xeretec, a leading independent integrator of digital print hardware, software solutions and services has 16 facilities across the UK and Ireland, with four offices across Scotland including Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness and Dundee, employing 86 staff across these four bases.

Xeretec experts will be on hand to meet visitors on stand D44 at the DIGIT Expo conference, Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) on Wednesday, 14 November 2018.
